Job Summary

The Business and Quality Assurance Analyst works closely with functional business areas including; sales, operations, technology and finance teams to define and document functional business requirements. This individual acts as the product owner to provide the analysis and business context to answer developer questions; create test plans and test cases to validate the solution implemented meets the business need. The candidate possesses an in-depth understanding of the mortgage industry in general and loan origination specifically.

The role will assist RMS in the migration to an Agile oriented approach to requirements management, including user stories, creation of backlogs and backlog grooming.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze project information to create and document a requirements work plan

  • Identify and document requirements, project related issues, assumptions, constraints, dependencies, risks and decisions.

  • Conduct and document gap analysis when dealing with technology solutions

  • Conduct process and requirement review sessions with project team

  • Plan and facilitate small group and one-on-one meetings

  • Work closely with project managers and project team members, maintaining a high standard of professionalism and accountability

  • Create technical test plans and test cases, applying automation where appropriate.

  • Manage user acceptance testing , collaborate with test team to create test scripts and gather documented results.

  • When required, participate or lead RFP type activities to identify vendor products and capabilities to meet a specific business need.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Mortgage industry experience required

  • Minimum of two years of Business Analyst experience.

  • Minimum of one year testing experience

  • Aptitude for collaboration

  • Communicates effectively orally and in writing

  • Skilled in technical writing and diagramming

  • Skilled in time management

  • Skilled in facilitation, negotiation, issue analysis and resolution

  • Ability to effectively communicate information to both technical and non-technical audiences

  • Advanced PC Skills (MS Office, MS Visio, MS Project)

  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • BS or other industry accepted certifications

  • Agile development experience, including product owner experience
